Because I watched my parents have a bad home buying experience, I feel it is my personal duty to thoroughly explain documents and contracts in effort to help my clients accomplish their goals soundly.

A little vulnerable and transparent memory that shaped my life in such a way. In this story I recount how I finally was able to muster up all the courage I had and put it into words to stand up for myself in English, to realize that my effort was met with embarrassment, and the feeling that I was less than. It molded and shaped my way of thinking for the negative for many years.

This was such a wound that I carried, that I suppressed a part of my identity throughout my school years. So much so that because of my disregard to my heritage my Spanish is not as articulate as it should be. But don’t get it twisted, I get my point across even if its in Spanglish lol.

Fast forward to today, I am absolutely grateful that my parents did not let up and Spanish had to be spoken in the house whether I wanted to or not. Due to their ground rules I became my parents mouthpiece and advocate. I was able to defend them, set up doctors appointment, reservations, pay water, bills and so much more. And yes, because I had to translate and be exposed to adult conversations I had to grow up faster than most kids. But I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

In addition, it prepared me with the ability to help outside my family and help others. I have helped many families with their documentation, well being and purchase their American Dream…a house to call their own.
